DIGGERS DAY

Come and join us for a relaxing afternoon of bowls or maybe a couple refreshing ales after attending your local commemorative service on Tuesday 25th of April. All monies raised on the day will be donated to Legacy.  See you there 1PM for a 1:30pm start.

Mens Open Singles 1st and 2nd rounds are on this Saturday 8th April.  Draw for the Mens Pairs and Fours is on the website and nticeboard.

I can see why Pub Day was cancelled on the 29th March 2017, thanks to ex cyclone Debbie.  She also managed to disrupt our social trip to Brunswick Heads 😦

Congratulations to Janis Grover, Avon O’Donovan, Barb Frainey and Ros Graham winning the Ladies fours and Geoff Jones the Mens ‘B’ Singles.

Yesterdays Semi-Final between Woodford and Samford was a nail biting game with the result not decided till after the final bell.  Two rinks went to an extra end- one in regular time and one after the bell.  The extra end after the bell took place when the rinks were tied two all and shots were tied across the entire match.  The final margin on all rinks was two or less.  Fantastic game by all involved.  The final score Samford three rinks (111 shots) Woodford two rinks (110 shots).  Thank you to all players, supporters and officials involved with this years tournament.

Men’s “b” singles draw is now available.  Nominations for Men’s “A” singles close Friday 24th February.  All Ladies club championship nominations close on 1st March.  Remember all nomination fees must accompany your nomination.

Round 2 versus Scarborough resulted in a narrow win for Woodford three rinks to two with the total score being Woodford 102 shots to Scarborough 100.

Overall points Woodford 5 – Scarborough 2

Round 3 is at home next week against Aspley.  Selections will be advised when available.

For your enjoyment Play-It Live kicks off at 3pm.  Meals available from 6pm.
