Ladies Open Pairs second Thursday of the month.

Ladies Fours 18th July 2013

Woodford Ladies enjoyed the company of 11 teams from the District and 1 from Toogoolawah at our 4’s Day. Although it rained almost continually from the start and the bowling was cut short, the day was a great success and Marg’s pumpkin soup for lunch went down a treat. The trophies, very kindly donated by Woodford Woolworths, were won by Bribie Island (winners) and Caboolture Lakes(runners-up). Thanks go to Ella and Marg for their help in setting up the tables and preparing the lunch and to all those who donated their time and goods in making the day a great success.

Ladies District Singles

18 Ladies competed in the 2013 District Singles held at Solander Lake over 4th,5th and 6th June and Woodford was very well represented by Gloria Gillespie, Faye Clarke and Ros Graham. Faye proceeded to the second round where she came up against Natasha Jones and Ros proceeded to the semi final where she also met Natasha . Well done to all Ladies.

Ladies Financial Day May 23rd

Sponsored by Traditional Funerals saw a beautiful sunny day when 14 district teams competed for numerous cash prizes. An enjoyable day was had by all. Many thanks to the sponsor and also to all Woodford ladies for making the day such a success.

On Saturday 27th April Pam Taylor & Annette Ruston defeated Maxine Parrington & Janelle Leenen and on Sunday 28th April Faye Clarke & Gloria Gillespie defeated Ros Graham and Peteena Holder.

Ladies Club Singles Championship

The finals of the Ladies Club Singles was played on Saturday 6th April between Faye Clarke and Ros Graham. Spectators enjoyed some fine bowling from both ladies and Faye became the 2013 Ladies Singles Champion. Congratulations to all players.

At last there has been a break in the rain to enable us to commence the Club Singles Championship. Peteena and Faye played on Friday 8th and Janelle and Gloria played on Saturday 9th. Pics on the “Home” page. Faye and Gloria now proceed to the next round.

Lorna’s Vice President’s Day – 15th November 2012

Teams from Kilcoy, Caboolture Lakes, Caboolture Memorial, Donnybrook, Toogoolawah and the Past Presidents joined with three teams from Woodford to enjoy morning tea followed by a short game of bowls – due to the very hot weather – and a great smorgasbord lunch.

Mixed Triples – 19th November

The finals of the Club’s Mixed Triples was played between Shawn Davidson’s team and Neville Hanna’s team. Spectators enjoyed some excellent and competitive bowling with Shawn’s team just winning by a small margin.

Mixed Pairs – 10th November

The final of the Club’s Mixed Pairs Championships between Lorna Smith & Shaun Casey and Shirley Riddle & Shawn Davidson was held in the afternoon despite rather wet conditions and congratulations go to Shirley and Shawn for being the 2012 Mixed Pairs Champions.

Ladies Team Challenge – 13th October – 10th November

Three of our ladies, Ros, Marg and Pam competed in the privately run Ladies Team Challenge 2012. This competition concept was born out of a need for good quality bowls for females in Brisbane and neighbouring districts and it is the first time that Caboolture has participated in their own zone. The competition ran for five weeks with the zone finalists competing in the sectional playoffs and finals for the title of Ladies Team Challenge Champions for 2012. The Woodford ladies were joined by two other ladies from Solander to form the team “Thorpedoes”. The final leg of the competition which was due to be held at Woodford was unfortunately cancelled due to rain. The “Thorpedoes” came 3rd in the Caboolture Zone.

Unfortunately this year only three Clubs participated in Division 2, Bongaree, Solander and Woodford. There was keen competition between the three Clubs and Woodford ended up coming second. The Ladies who participated were:-

Caboolture District Champion of Club Champions Pairs Finals 3rd July 2012

The finals were held at Woodford between Pam and Marg (Woodford) and Lyn and Robyn (Solander Lake) It was a very close game with Solander being the victors by one point.

CDLBA Novice Championships – June 2012

Peteena, who was successful in the first and second rounds , went on to participate in the finals where she became the 2012 Novice Singles Runner Up.

CDLBA Singles Championships – June 2012

As luck would have it, Ros Graham and Pam Taylor were drawn against each other for the first game and after a very close match, Ros came out the winner. Ros went on to play the second round and despite a very close game was defeated.

CDLBA Pairs Championship – May 2012

Ros Graham and Pam Harman & Maxine Parrington and Pam Taylor entered the District Pairs competition and Ros and Pam went through to the quarter finals.

Club Pairs – April 2012

This year the Pairs Semi finals and finals were played on the same days. In the semis Ros and Peteena went down to Marg and Pam and Janelle and Maxine went down to Pam T and Shirley in two very close matches. The finals followed in the afternoon and Marg and Pam H were the victors after a very long day.

Club Singles Championship – March 2012

The final of the Ladies Club Singles Championship was held on 22nd March between Lorna Smith and Pam Harman resulting in Lorna once again retaining the title.
